Strawberry Basil Margarita
Equipment
- 1 Sauce Pan
- 1 Fine Mesh Strainer
Ingredients
- 1 Lb Fresh Strawberries Sliced
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Basil, Chopped and Packed
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Water
Cocktail
- 1 1/2 Oz Silver Tequila
- 1 Oz Cointreau
- 1 Oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
- 1 1/2 Oz Strawberry Basil Syrup
Instructions
- To make Strawberry Basil Syrup bring water and sugar to a boil – turn down to simmer and add berries and basil
- Smash the berries while the mixture is simmering
- Simmer mixture for about 15 minutes until thickens then cool
Cockail
- Mix Tequila, Cointreau, Fresh Squeezed Lime and the Strawberry Basil Syrup in a cocktail shaker over ice and shake well
- Pour into margarita glass filled with ice
- Garnish with a Fresh Strawberry and a sprig of Basil
